Continuing Education

The Culinary Techniques 101 and Pastry Techniques 101 courses are designed for individuals who are looking to enhance their cooking skills. These 20-week courses are dedication to learning the ins and outs of the kitchen without committing to the full-time professional programs. They are designed to help, enhance and encourage the student.

The students who are in these courses are both inexperienced as well as experienced cooks. Several are currently in the field but have never had formal training. Students learn by both lecture and hands-on techniques. A lecture/demonstration begins each class so that the student can visualize what the techniques and final product is. Following the demonstration, the students will work in pairs to replicate what the Instructor did.

These courses are taught by professional instructors who have worked in the field and have been teaching for several years.

There are no exams, homework or externships required but it is highly encouraged to continue practicing at home. A student can never learn enough in the kitchen. Often times after leaving the classroom, students come up with questions while practicing at home.
