L'Academie de Cuisine will host its 9th Annual Food & Wine Golf Classic on May 12 at Whiskey Creek in Ijamsville, MD. Golfers will ride onto the course ready for a fun competition followed by a wonderful lunch. Join Chefs Francois Dionot, Gerard Pangaud, Mark Ramsdell and Patrice Olivon for some lively competition on the course. Bring your game face and foursome for a day of food, wine and great golf! Students in L'Academie de Cuisine's professional Culinary and Pastry Arts Programs will prepare a sumptuous breakfast and lunch for our guests.

Current students in L'Academie's professional Pastry Arts Program will present a buffet of 2,500 handmade mini-French pastries, chocolates and confections to celebrate the culmination of 20 weeks of study. Prospective pastry students of L'Academie's professional program are encouraged to attend to meet with our chefs and students and see how L'Academie prepares our students to go to work in the professional pastry arts! Pastry Arts Scholarship Competition

The Roland Mesnier Pastry Scholarship competition is open to all interested applicants who are 18 years or older with no prior professional culinary or pastry education and not more than one year of professional culinary or pastry experience. Applicants must submit a completed and signed entry form no later than Saturday, June 14, 2008. Applicants are required to prepare (from scratch) and submit one pastry presentation to serve at least 10 people.
One grand prize winner will be awarded a $4,000 non-refundable tuition credit scholarship to be used toward the professional Pastry Arts Program. The scholarship award money will apply to students enrolling in the July 2008, September 2008 and Jan 2009 programs.
