February 9-10, 2008 — American Personal & Private Chef Association Training


The Personal & Private Chef industry has expanded enormously and blossomed into a recognized career path, with the demand for high-quality food and service growing each year in the Washington area. L’Academie de Cuisine is pleased to partner with the American Personal & Private Chef Association (APPCA) to bring you the dynamic 2-day high-intensity seminar providing the best tools and educational materials in the industry for you to operate a successful personal chef business.

This 2 day seminar provides you with a detailed analysis of getting your business up and running in the shortest time possible. The live seminar is your fastest path to success. Prepare to spend part of the second day networking with successful personal chefs in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.

In order to enhance your business exposure online for more clients to reach you, we have added "Internet Marketing & Search Engines for Personal Chefs" and "Personal Chef Office." This section was developed by APPCA's Webmaster and IT Director, please see the Schedule below. The presentation includes how to include simple techniques to your Web site and to your Find-A-Chef page to increase traffic through the major search engines as well as how to write Web copy for the search engines. This is MUST HAVE information to increase your success as a personal chef.

Sunday, March 2, 2008 - Chefs Culinary Challenge

L’Academie de Cuisine will again host two graduates in a Chefs Challenge showdown on Sunday, March 2nd, 2008.  The 3-time defending champion, Pete Smith, Executive Chef of PS7 in Washington, DC will face challenger Barry Koslow of Mendocino Grill, in Washington, DC.  The Chefs will be judged on the presentation of each dish by a panel of peers, culinary “celebrities” and also a lucky member of the audience chosen at random. 

 You will be a part of the action as you watch the chefs prepare their dishes in L’Academie’s state-of the-art kitchen in the Gaithersburg school.  You will also watch the judges as they review and compare each course to make their decisions.  And, enjoy a dinner buffet prepared by students in the current Culinary and Pastry Arts Training programs.  This very special event will begin at 5:30 pm The cost is $95.00 per person.

All proceeds from this culinary event will go to L’Academie de Cuisine’s Scholarship Fund for students to attend L’Academie’s professional Culinary and Pastry Arts Programs. Register online to make your reservation.  Space is limited so get your reservations in early.
